Find where decisions stop. Install authority in the work. Review whether it holds.

Restructuring & Organization Design

This portfolio gives organizations three routes: locate where decisions stall, redesign and enact the organization around clearer authority, or review whether the installed model is still holding in practice.

What this portfolio does

Locate the blockage, redesign authority, then make the design operational.

This portfolio is for organizations whose structure no longer carries their strategy, growth, or new way of working.

It begins with real decisions: where they wait, why they travel upward, and where they cross functions without a clear holder. When the evidence points to a structural problem, the work redesigns job architecture, roles, spans, layers, and decision authority, then carries the design into enactment and review.

The three routes

  1. Where Decisions Stop

Locate the point where authority breaks down

A focused diagnostic that traces 2–3 consequential decisions from request to resolution. It reveals waiting time, handoffs, the difference between formal and exercised authority, and the missing thresholds that keep decisions travelling upward.

The engagement establishes a measured baseline and a clear map of the structural changes worth considering before committing to a wider redesign.

    Duration

    • One week.

  2. The Install

Turn the approved design into the way the organization works

A restructuring and organization-design engagement that redesigns job architecture, roles, spans, layers, decision rights, and authority thresholds, then carries those changes into live work.

The engagement does not end with an approved structure or revised role descriptions. It includes enactment and change management so that the new authority can be exercised and observed in real decisions.

    Duration

    • Based on Company Size.

  3. Standing Review

Detect where authority has started to drift

A semiannual review for organizations that have completed The Install. It compares current decisions with the enacted baseline and identifies where authority has moved upward again, parallel routes have appeared, or decision boundaries have become unclear.

Each required correction is defined and assigned to a named owner.

    Cadence

    • Every six months.

    Prerequisite

The Install and an enacted baseline.

Do not leave the strategy inside a structure it has outgrown

Begin with where decisions are stopping today. From there, we can determine whether the appropriate route is an authority diagnostic, a full organization install, or a review of an existing model.
